Deoxyarbutin is one of the derivatives of arbutin, other name is 4-[(Tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy]phenol, a white or off-white powder, oil-soluble substance. Deoxyarbutin is a cosmetic ingredient with efficient brightening and whitening functions, commonly used in high-end cosmetics.
The whitening effect is 10 times that of hydroquinone, 38.5 times that of alpha arbutin, 150 times that of quercetin, and 350 times that of beta arbutin.
